Description

Dolly Parton, Porter Wagoner 1971 North Carolina Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising a pair of country-western powerhouses, Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, performing two shows at the Kenan Memorial Auditorium in Kenansville, NC on Saturday evening, December 11, 1971. The duo's back-up group was the Wagonmasters, all decked out in their wagon-wheel stage suits, and the opening act was comedian Speck Rhodes from Wagoner's popular television show.

Wagoner was a giant in his day, but there's no question that 50 years later, Dolly is carrying the poster here. At the time of this show, she had already charted an impressive 25 singles in Billboard, including her first #1, "Joshua." She would end up charting over 100, including too many #1's to count.

Measures 13 ¾" x 21 ¾" and grades to Very Good Plus condition for general toning throughout and slightly touched & rounded corners, including microscopic tip loss on the bottom two. COA from Heritage Auctions.
