Description

Dolly Parton, Porter Wagoner 1971 Jumbo Hatch Show Print Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising The Porter Wagoner Show in the spring of 1971 at the Shindig at Cripple Creek event a few miles from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The fast-rising Dolly Parton, still closely associated with Wagoner, was second-billed, and comedian Speck Rhodes rounded out the bill. Fortuitously, all three get photos on the poster. Dolly had enjoyed 10 Top 10 country hits by this point, and in a few years would emerge into mainstream superstardom.

This is a total pre-show printing used for advertising this event, despite the unusual "Hatch Show Print - Nashville" printer's credit found at the bottom, which they usually didn't do.

Measures 22" x 28" and grades to repaired Very Good Plus condition. All four corner areas have been treated professionally by Chameleon Restoration, resulting in a nearly perfect board with only a couple of spots of grime and general toning throughout. COA from Heritage Auctions.
