Description
Cream 1968 Fresno, CA Colorful Psychedelic Concert Handbill. A really wild, psychedelic concert-advertising flyer for Cream appearing at Selland Arena in Fresno, California on Wednesday, March 13, 1968. Blue Cheer was the opening band. This handbill doubles as an advertisement for Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin, who were "Coming April 19th" to Selland.Graphic artist "Sogy" did a great job of intertwining photos of Ginger Baker, Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce with catchy, unique psychedelic artwork. Tickets were only $3.50, and the light show was provided by Ben Van Meter's North American Ibis Alchemical Co. (of San Francisco).
Cream was touring off their Top 5 album Disraeli Gears, Blue Cheer was promoting their one hit LP, Vincebus Eruptum, and BBHC had just started recording their landmark Cheap Thrills album.
(A reminder that CGC does not grade this particular poster due to its absence from the Art of Rock and Eric King books.) Measures 7 18" x 11" and grades to Mint Minus condition, for only the slightest bit of handling to the glossy paper. COA from Heritage Auctions.
