Chuck Berry Trio/The Spaniels/Buddy Johnson Concert Poster, Memorial Auditorium, Chattanooga, TN (circa 1955). A monumental poster, measuring 22.5" x 28.25", advertising what would have been a monumental show, this piece is exceedingly rare, as it bills Rock guitar architect Chuck Berry as the Chuck Berry Trio, as well as listing the Spaniels, the Nutmegs, 4 Fellows, Buddy Johnson, Al Savage, Queenie Owens and more, complete with pictures! This early Rock & Roll showcase took place on Friday, October 14, 1955 at the Memorial Auditorium in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and any who were there bore witness to history in the making. Though Chuck Berry's place at the top of the Rock heap has been eternally secured, this poster offers a glimpse into lesser known chapters of the annals of Rock & Roll. In vibrant red, yellow, blue, and white, the poster shows light handling wear, slight creasing and minute chipping along the bottom edge. Very Good.
