Chuck Berry Trio/The Spaniels/Buddy Johnson Concert Poster (circa 1955). Very Rare. Jumbo window card tour blank for "Big Rock & Roll Show". The poster features images of all of the acts on the lineup with hit songs also listed, including: Buddy Johnson and Orchestra, "Bittersweet"; Chuck Berry Trio, "Creator of 'Maybellene'; the Nutmegs, "Story Untold"; Arthur Prysock, "Woke Up This Morning"; 4 Fellows, "Soldier Boy"; Al Savage, "Paradise Princess"; the Spaniels, "Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight"; Ella Johnson "Allright O.K. You Win"; and "Extra Added Attraction / The Queen Of Quiver And Shake Queenie Owens". Measures 22.25' x 28.5". In Very Good condition with repairs and touchups to tears at left edge, lower edge and lower right edge, 2" stain to lower edge, brown paper tape applied across top edge.

This important poster dates to the roots of Rock 'n Roll music. It references Chuck Berry's very first single "Maybellene" when he briefly performed under the name of the "Chuck Berry Trio". We believe this to be the only know poster that advertises the group with this name. A copy of this poster for a show in Chattanooga sold at Heritage in 2016 for $9,375.
