Description

Chuck Berry, Bill Haley "Biggest In-Person Show of '56" Original 1950's Concert Handbill. An original, vintage paper advertising flyer from St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday "Nite," November 3, 1956 for a rock 'n' roll caravan tour that featured the talents of Bill Haley and the [sic] Comets, The Platters, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, Chuck Berry, Clyde McPhatter, The Clovers, Ella Johnson, Shirley & Lee and several others.

The design on this handbill, for one of the very first rock 'n' roll package tours ever, uses several primary colors to great effect. The red, yellow, blue, white and black give off a dazzling five-color appearance. And not only is every star pictured, look at all those important song titles... "See You Later Alligator," "The Magic Touch," "My Prayer," "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," "Roll Over Beethoven"... it's like a 50's Seeburg rock 'n' roll jukebox. This thing is nothing but high points. Measures 6" x 8 3/4" and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
