Description
Charlie Parker Open Door Small Poster (Bob Reisner Presents, 1955). Very Rare. Printed in boxing style on white card for a show on Sunday Jan. 2 in New York City. The poster announces "Bob Reisner / presents / The Greatest In / Modern Jazz / "Bird" / Charlie Parker / And His All Stars". Measures 5.5" x 8.75". In Near Mint Condition, "1955" inscribed to lower right corner, general toning.Provenance: Originally from the collection of Bob Reisner.
Bob Reisner was a jazz impresario, with two jazz clubs in New York, the Open Door and the Pad. He was a jazz critic for the Village Voice, and wrote the 1962 biography Bird: The Legend of Charlie Parker.
