Description

Charles Lloyd Quartet Concert Posters, Group of 2 (1967-68). The Charles Lloyd Quartet consisted of pianist Keith Jarrett, bassist Cecil McBee (later Ron McClure), and drummer Jack DeJohnette, who, along with saxophonist Lloyd, became the first Jazz band to play the Fillmore. Their far-out brand of Fusion Jazz was popular with the San Francisco Rock crowd; these two posters feature the Quartet as headliners for both the Avalon Ballroom (Family Dog FD-74 Tripping or Taj Mahal poster) and the original Fillmore Auditorium (Grass Roots Productions show). The Avalon poster measures approximately 14" x 20"; the Grass Roots poster is approximately 12.5" x 18", and both are first printings in VG+ condition.
