Description

Bobby Vee 1964 "Take Good Care of My Baby" Concert Poster from His Archives. An original green-paper concert poster advertising teen idol Bobby Vee performing at the Eagles Ballroom in Berlin, Wisconsin on Friday evening, July 10, 1964. This poster comes directly from the estate of Mr. Vee, who passed away in 2016.

"Liberty Records Recording Star," the poster proclaims, although it does misspell his first name. Nice to see five song titles given on the poster, always a plus. By the summer of '64, Vee had a lot of hits he could perform for patrons, including five which reached the Top 10 of Billboard magazine's Hot 100 singles chart: "Devil or Angel," "Rubber Ball," "Take Good Care of My Baby," "Run to Him" and "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes."

Measures 17" x 22" and grades to Very Good condition. Was once folded down into eighths, and two of the eight panels on the front got toned a bit, in the lower right quadrant of the poster. The center horizontal fold crosses through Bobby's face and does break the color a little, there's a thin white line from where it was folded. There is also red-ink pen writing in two places: "Wisconsin" under "Berlin" and "1964" after the second "July 10." COA from Heritage Auctions.
