Description
Big Jay McNeely/Jimmy Wright South Gate Arena Concert Poster (1952). Extremely Rare. Window card printed on card stock for a show in California on Sat. Nov. 29. The poster features a headshot of the flamboyant tenor sax player and announces "In Person / Direct From Hollywood / Big Jay / McNeely / the Deacon of the Tenor Sax and Band / Exclusive Imperial Recording Artists". The support act also listed is "Jimmie [sic Jimmy] Wright / and his / Capitol Recording Band". Printed by "Majestic Poster Press, Los Angeles". Measures 14" x 22". In Very Good condition with a 0.5" tear to right edge, and another similar to lower left edge, all corners rounded, corner and edge wear, water stain to lower right corner, toning to borders.This is the only example of this poster that we have ever seen.
