BG-91 Pink Floyd (Debut American Show), Janis Joplin 1967 S.F. Concert Poster Graded 9.6. First-and-only printing San Francisco concert poster for Pink Floyd making their first-ever American concert appearance, Big Brother & the Holding Company w/Janis Joplin and Richie Havens scheduled to play at both the Fillmore Auditorium and Winterland on Thursday thru Saturday nights, November 2-4, 1967. Designed by Bonnie MacLean and known as BG-91 in the Bill Graham numbered series, this poster was graded a premier 9.6 Near Mint Plus by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company).The stand's last date, Saturday Nov. 4, marked Pink Floyd's debut North American show. The Floyd appeared on three straight BG posters - 90, 91 and 92 - but due to Visa and other problems, some cancellations occurred. So they didn't play at all on BG-90, played only one night here on BG-91, and played all three nights on BG-92.
Floyd's new single "Flaming," written and sung by Syd Barrett and taken from their debut album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, was released by Tower Records in America this very week, so you can be sure it was performed. Measures 14 1/8" x 21 1/8". COA from Heritage Auctions.
Special note: We feel this poster is actually a Signature-auction item (live auctioneer, catalog placement) that we appraise at being clearly worth over $1,000, as evidenced by results in the last couple of years here at Heritage.
