Description

BG-44 The Doors 1967 Fillmore Auditorium Debut Concert Poster Graded 9.8. First-printing San Francisco concert poster for the third-billed Doors, the Young Rascals and Sopwith Camel playing at the Fillmore Auditorium on Friday thru Sunday nights, January 6-8, 1967. Designed by Wes Wilson and known as BG-44 in the Bill Graham numbered series, this poster was graded an elite 9.8 Near Mint/Mint by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company).

New York's Young Rascals got top billing based on the strength of their #1 hit "Good Lovin'" from the year before, which every band in the land loved to cover. S.F. group Sopwith Camel had just entered the national charts with their "Hello Hello" semi-hit. The Doors, on the other hand, would not make noise until this summer with "Light My Fire," and this was their very first appearance at the famed Fillmore. Measures 13 3/4" x 23 3/4". COA from Heritage Auctions.
