Description
BG-270 Fleetwood Mac, Steppenwolf 1971 S.F. Concert Poster Graded 9.8. First-and-only-printing San Francisco concert poster serving triple duty for Bill Graham for two weekends in early 1971. First up, on Thursday thru Sunday, February 11-14 at the Fillmore West, you had Fleetwood Mac, Tom Rush and Clover. At the same time at the larger Winterland auditorium, on Friday and Saturday nights only, there was Steppenwolf, Cold Blood, Shiva's Headband and a nice 1-2 blues punch of "The Buddy Guy-Junior Wells Blues Band."Then on the following weekend, Thursday thru Sunday, February 18-21, It's a Beautiful Day, Blues Image and Tower of Power performed at the Fillmore West. It's interesting how the poster artist felt compelled to put "Bill Graham Presents in San Francisco" above all three sets of information.
Speaking of whom, this poster was designed by "Pierre" with an unusually prominent credit in the bottom center area. Known as BG-270 in the Bill Graham numbered series, this poster measures 27 3/4" x 20 7/8" and was graded a terrific 9.8 Near Mint/Mint by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company). COA from Heritage Auctions.
