Description

BG-226 Jethro Tull, Manfred Mann 1970 Fillmore West Concert Poster Graded 8.5. First-and-only-printing San Francisco concert poster for Jethro Tull, Manfred Mann Chapter Three, Bessie Jones & the Georgia Sea Island Singers, and Clouds scheduled to play at the Fillmore West on Thursday through Sunday nights, April 2-5, 1970. Designed by David Singer and known as BG-226 in the Bill Graham numbered series, this poster was graded to 8.5 Very Fine Plus by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company).

This weekend would have found Tull playing music from its soon-to-be-released third album, Benefit, and of course plenty from This Was and Stand Up. But according to Eric King's poster guide, "This concert was canceled and distribution of the poster was limited. Both the poster and the card are rather difficult to find and somewhat more expensive than most of the other posters in the series." Measures 14" x 21 3/4". From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
