Description

BG-2 "Batman" Big Brother, Quicksilver, Great Society Third Printing Concert Poster Signed by Wes Wilson. Third-printing San Francisco concert poster for seven different bands playing only the second Bill Graham dance-concert weekend at his new shrine, the Fillmore Auditorium. The dates were Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, March 18-20, 1966. This historic poster, obtainable at an affordable price compared to the very expensive first printings, was also signed by its creator, the legendary Wes Wilson.

To promote the evening, Wilson created his first Bill Graham "psychedelic" poster (of sorts) centered around Batman & Robin. The Batman live-action TV show had just debuted on ABC on January 12, so was surely an influence on Wes as he thought up his first BG poster.

Appearing over the sprawling weekend were Big Brother & the Holding Company (prior to Janis joining), the Great Society (with Grace Slick), Quicksilver Messenger Service, the Mystery Trend, the Family Tree, the Gentleman's Band and the Skins.

Measures approx. 14" x 20" and grades to Near Mint condition (due to some edge wear). Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
