BG-136 Janis Joplin/Big Brother, Santana, CTA 1968 Fillmore West Poster Graded 9.2. First-and-only printing San Francisco concert poster for Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company, Santana and Chicago Transit Authority playing the Fillmore West on Thursday thru Saturday nights, September 12-14, 1968. Known as BG-136 in the Bill Graham numbered series and created by Rick Griffin, this poster is sometimes referred to as "Heart and Torch." It's been graded 9.2 Near Mint Minus by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company).

This weekend found Big Brother playing just one month after the release of their legendary Cheap Thrills album, featuring the Joplin career-defining "Piece of My Heart." That LP had just entered the nation's top 40 albums in Billboard this week; would be in the top 20 next week; and would be in the top 5 the week after that. Measures 14" x 22". COA from Heritage Auctions.
