BG-105 Jimi Hendrix Experience Second Printing 1968 "Flying Eyeball" Poster CGC-graded 9.2. An original Bill Graham second-printing poster of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and Albert King at San Francisco's famed Fillmore and Winterland ballrooms on the first four days of February 1968, known in the hobby as BG-105. Most art-rock fans and collectors consider this to be designer Rick Griffin's masterpiece.

This excellent specimen has been graded Near Mint Minus 9.2 on a scale of 1-to-10 by the Certified Guaranty Company (CGC), now the final word on the grading and authenticating of vintage concert posters. This beauty delights the eyes with its deep, rich colors looking as strong as the day it was printed. Poster measures 14 x 21 ½" and is CGC-graded 9.2. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Did you know this poster also doubles as a Janis Joplin concert poster? That's right, on the final night, Sunday February 4 at the Fillmore, Big Brother & the Holding Company stepped into one of the opening slots when another of the acts canceled. Quite a nice, hidden 'value-added' feature of this poster, as if it needed anything else.

When one talks about the very best psychedelic San Francisco concert posters, the conversation invariably turns toward Bill Graham Presents and the Family Dog, and invariably lands on Graham's Hendrix flying eyeball and the Dog's Grateful Dead "Skeleton & Roses" posters. Those two are always neck-and-neck for the most popular psych concert poster ever.

Condition details to embellish the Near Mint Minus 9.2 grading: Tiniest of bumping to the upper right and lower right corners. Tiny indent on right edge halfway down. Tiny surface crease in the red near the flames at about 4 o'clock if the centerpiece were a clock. The two tiny white marks in extreme upper left are printer's flaws and not damage.
