Al Hibbler "Jazz Scoop!" 1957 Chicago, IL Jumbo Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising the great Al Hibbler in performance for two weeks at Chicago's McKie's nightclub commencing on Wednesday, October 9, 1957. Also on the bill were Howard McGhee and his Men of Jazz.

Al Hibbler will forever be known as one of the first musicians to record and popularize the super-classic "Unchained Melody." Al took it to #1 R&B in the spring of 1955 three weeks before Roy Hamilton did, while Les Baxter was taking it to #1 pop (a very unusual situation, to say the least). Hibb had a few other Top 10 hits at the time, such as "He" and "After the Lights Go Down Low." There's a reason this poster calls him "The Great Singing Sensation!"

Measures 22" x 28" and grades to Near Mint Minus condition. Poster has very light toning around the edges, a couple of bumped upper corners, and a half-inch edge tear to the right of "6325." COA from Heritage Auctions.
