Description

A Group of Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Display Items (UK, Germany, and Belgium 1960s and Later). Here is a very nice mixture of display items from the important Sgt. Pepper period of Beatles' career. Beginning with a rare copy of the Belgian publication Pick-Up, which is essentially a large folded poster, cleverly printed in a way that allowed three separate posters of different sizes to be displayed. This 1967 issue includes Petula Clark (small), the Monkees (medium), and the Beatles (large), the Beatles image measuring a massive 49" x 35" overall, and showing the the group in a 1967 promotional pose. With a very nice reproduction of the Victorian-era poster which John purchased in an antiques shop, and which famously served as an inspiration to the writing of "Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite." The poster is on nice tan stock, and has an edition notation of "89/250" at lower right, indicating that it came from a limited edition printing. With a large 19.5" square reproduction of the Sgt. Pepper album cover, with a message on the reverse in German indicating that it was produced in 1992 as a retail promotion for the 30th anniversary of the Beatles' EMI recording career. Another retail sign concludes the collection, a 13.5" x 18.5" German artist board, circa 1967, with a psychedelic presentation of the Beatles from that era. A very nice group, overall all in Very Good or better condition, the "Kite" poster with some slight creases at bottom left, not affecting visual impact. From the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection.
