    The Rolling Stones - Twelve Unreleased Photos from Rock and Roll Circus (1968). All are 8" x 10" original satin finish B&W photos. Subjects include: (1) Mick playing an acoustic guitar, sitting on the stage; (2) Brian Jones playing his Gibson ES-330 next to the amps; (3) John Lennon on electric and Keith Richards on bass onstage; (4) Yoko Ono with violinist Ivry Gitlis and Lennon; (5) Charlie Watts sitting, wearing a hat and wrapped in a blanket; (6) Jagger performing with Wyman and Watts in the background; (7) Various performers and staff seated; (8)The Who standing onstage; (9) Eric Clapton and John Lennon onstage; (10) The Dirty Mac onstage (Clapton, Lennon, Richards, and Mitch Mitchell); (11) Another onstage photo of the Dirty Mac; and (12) The Stones from behind the drum kit, looking out. There are minor tape stains on the versos, otherwise Excellent condition.

    In 1968, Mick Jagger approached director Michael Lindsay-Hogg to make a full-length television show for the BBC starring the Stones and their guests. The idea of combining rock and the circus came up and they created a big top replica at a sound stage in Wembley. The Rolling Stones, The Who, John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, and others all performed in front of an invited audience. When the filming finally wrapped after about fifteen hours, Jagger was so disappointed in the quality of his group's performance that he withheld the film from release. It was not until 1996 that the film and album was finally made available to the public.
