Patti Smith Photo and Manuscript Group A 1975 three-page Crawdaddy Magazine manuscript entitled "Flying Saucers Rock n' Roll", typed by Patti Smith with handwritten notes from her and a Crawdaddy editor, and signed by Patti at the bottom of page three, plus three photos: a childhood snapshot (original), an early to mid-seventies photo print by Judy Lynn with Patti in her striped shirt, and a late-seventies Arista publicity photo with Patti in Punk-era "bondage" wear. Items are in average Fine condition. The manuscript, which deals with Patti's childhood, UFOs, Jimi Hendrix, and her ill sister, is especially interesting, written in her classic "Rock and Roll Fever Dream" style, which she has employed recently as a writer of memoirs. What may surprise many is that Patti has won a National Book Award in the process. An important and fascinating Rock and Roller, and a superb memorabilia grouping! COA from Heritage Auctions.
