    Herb Greene The Acid Age of San Francisco Rock Deluxe Limited Edition Photo Portfolio (Herb Greene / Palm Press, 2006). An extremely limited - numbered "22/30" - portfolio containing thirty-nine gelatin silver prints of some of Herb Greene's famous 1960s/early '70s photographs of the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, and several other Rock icons and figures of the era. Each photo is printed on Ilford Multicontrast Glossy Fiber Paper, and titled, signed, and dated by Herb Greene in pencil at the bottom edge of the verso of each print.

    Though perhaps best known for his photo portraits of the Grateful Dead, Herb Greene (born in Indio, California on April 3, 1942) photographed nearly ever important figure of the 1960s San Francisco Hippie/Psych/Hard Rock scene, with work featured regularly in Rolling Stone, Newsweek, Life, GQ and other notable publications. During the 1970s, Greene worked as a fashion and music photographer, and earned a Grammy nomination for his work on That's a Plenty, the 1974 studio LP from the Pointer Sisters. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he continued working with the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, and others, and published The Book of the Dead: Celebrating 25 Years with the Grateful Dead in 1990.
