    Description

David Bowie: 12 Kodak Contact Sheets of Photographs Taken During the Recording of Aladdin Sane, January 31, 1973. Over 200 thumbnail photos on 12 contact sheets taken of Bowie at RCA studios on January 31, 1973 as the Aladdin Sane recording was completed. The shots show Bowie's wife Angie, RCA president Rocco Laginestra, various studio engineers and many fine shots of Bowie in his sartorial splendor. Recording had started in October 1972, with an additional session in December of 1972. The final recording took place January 18 - 24, 1973. These photos were likely taken as the final touches were being added to the album which was released the following April. The album was ranked at 277 on Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums of all times. Additionally, the lot contains four contact sheets (100 thumbnails) of Bowie performing during the same period at an unknown concert venue.
