Description
Buddy Holly Original Photo Booth Strip (1959). Attractively matted in a display to an overall 16" x 20", this incredible piece practically breathes Rock N' Roll history. Contained on this strip are some of the final images of Buddy Holly. Included with the strip is a photocopy of a letter from Paul Caruso of the Museum of Rock Art to Gary Busey, inquiring if he'd be interested in the photos. According to the letter, Caruso's research shows this strip is from the Winter Dance Party tour, particularly the airport in Clearlake, Iowa, prior to Buddy, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper boarding that ill-fated flight. After Holly's passing, this strip found it's way into the Buddy Holly files at Decca/MCA records. In these photos Buddy Holly's immortal style, personality, and sense of humor are captured perfectly, and its rarity can't be overstated: this is it. Rave on!Also included with the strip are glossy 8" x 10" prints of the images captured on the strip. Photo strip measures approximately 2" x 8". In Very Good condition, exhibiting folds between images and some minor handling and age wear, along with slight marks/loss on the poster board. Originally from the Santa Monica Museum of Rock Art. COA from Heritage Auctions.
