Description

Beatles - Astrid Kirchherr Signed Large Format Photograph of John Lennon and George Harrison, "Attic" (Hamburg, 1962). This haunting photograph is an image of the Beatles in mourning. Stuart Sutcliffe died suddenly in April 1962 in Hamburg, just before the Beatles returned from Liverpool to be the first headliners at the Star-Club, and they only learned of his death upon arrival. This photo was taken by Sutcliffe's fiance and the group's dear friend Astrid Kirchherr in Stuart's painting studio at the time. John would later compose "Baby's In Black" about Kirchherr's loss. Kirchherr has boldly signed at lower left in silver marker. Printed 2009 by Grauwert, Hamburg. The image measuring 19.5" x 23.5", matted to an overall size of 27.5" x 31.5". In Fine condition. This print was exhibited at Beatlemania Hamburg. From the Ulf Kruger Archive.
