A Group of Vintage and Press Photographs of The Beatles By Dezo Hoffman, Astrid Kirchherr (Signed), and Others (UK and Germany). Here is a fabulous group of photos centered on the Beatles' early years, taken by some of the most famous names to capture the group on film, and including a beautiful shot of John Lennon signed by Astrid Kirchherr. A nice group of vintage Dezo Hoffman prints are included, including a group shot with John's Rickenbacker and the original TV Times mailing envelope from 1963, the classic "Jump," and three shots from the "Barber" series, with the barbershop photo of all four Beatles bearing Hoffman's stamp of the verso. Later photos with press notations on the verso capture the Quarrymen in 1958; two images of the Beatles at the Top Ten Club in 1961, one by Jürgen Vollmer; and John's undated passport mugshot. John in a bowler from A Hard Day's Night is stamped with credits to Max Scheler; however it was actually taken by Astrid Kirchherr, who has signed it in pencil on the verso. Included with the lot are a group of six additional later unsigned prints by Kirchherr, a later print of the group at the Top Ten Club by Peter Bruchmann, and a later print of the Beatles on their first night at the Indra, wearing the lavender sportcoats which would soon be abandoned for black leather jackets. Most are Very Good or better, the largest 12" x 9.5". From the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection.
