Rick Griffin Grateful Dead Reckoning Album Preliminary Art and Printed Poster (Arista, 1981). The Dead's powerful acoustic live set from 1980 was captured on this double LP, released in 1981. The band again turned to legendary poster and comix artist Rick Griffin for cover art, who managed to breath a little new life into the standard Skull and Roses trademark design by adding a stylized heart. Here's Rick's initial ink and colored marker design, originally drawn in one of his sketchbooks. The image area measures approximately 16" x 13" and the art is in Very Good condition. In addition, a 24" x 24" in-store promotional poster of the finished design is included; it's in Very Good Plus condition.
