Description

Grateful Dead - Jerry Garcia Original Drawing with R. Crumb Printed Image of Charles Bukowski. Presented together are two figures -- on the right, an original drawing by Jerry Garcia of an unidentified man, and on the left, a printed image of the writer Charles Bukowski as rendered by the famous comic artist R. Crumb. The original work by Jerry Garcia has been done in colored pencil and black ink, and is distinctly signed in black ink lower right. It appears to have been drawn by Garcia in a small sketchbook, later removed with perforation remnants still intact at the top, adding to its charm. Both figures are shown in three-quarter profile with their heads turned to the viewer's left, creating an interesting visual image. The Garcia drawing measures 4.75" x 6", with both figures placed in mattes measuring 6" x 8", within a black frame measuring 19" x 26". There is some unidentified dark material on the matte, principally below the image of Bukowski, and several scratches to the frame lower right, but overall the work is in Very Good condition.
