Gargoyles (Buena Vista TV, 1994-1997), Original Poster Art by Joe Spencer. Original poster art created by renowned illustrator Joe Spencer, who utilized airbrushed acrylics and mixed media on a 27.25" x 35.75" artist's board, signing the artwork on the lower left corner under the green mat. Features a fish-eye angle of five unique gargoyles that have come to life, descending into the Manhattan skies from their castle atop a skyscraper. Gargoyles follows a clan of nocturnal warrior creatures that turn to stone in the daytime. When released, the project was hailed as the most ambitious Disney project to date due to its adult themes and darker tone. Joe Spencer was a Disney Imagineer at the time, lending his services to capture the essence of the magnificent brooding creatures of the night and still retaining the cartoon aesthetic. Exhibits expected age and handling wear, with slight surface scratching, overall presenting well. Tape remnants at the top of board not affecting the artwork. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
