DescriptionBeatles -Top of the World Original Oil Painting by Eric Cash. Depicts the Beatles on stage in their first US television performance on the Ed Sullivan show February 9, 1964. Rendered in oil on canvas with Cash's signature at the bottom left, and measures approximately 30" x 36". In Excellent condition.
According to artist Eric Cash: "I had found a photo of the Beatles taken from the balcony at concert, and I was taken by the unusual angle. In the photo the Beatles themselves were very small and the stage was cluttered with wires. I thought it would make a great painting but knew I needed to change the stage. I thought there is really only one visually dramatic stage, that being the stage that was designed for them for their first act on the Sullivan show that night in February, where the American public got their first glimpse of the group."
