Description
A Stanley Mouse Original Concept Painting for the Grateful Dead Album "Europe '72." Rendered in acrylic on illustration board, depicting the infamous 'Ice Cream Kid,' signed in black ballpoint ink on the lower right side "S. Mouse / 1972," further annotated in the lower left corner with various ideas for the title of the drawing; verso additionally has a number of pen and ink sketches for layout concepts for the album; included with a 2011 letter signed by Mouse authenticating this work, noting that it was "done in 1972...(at my) home studio in Larkspur, California (and is) a good example of brainstorming by Mouse and Kelly."19" x 12"
