    Description

The Rolling Stones Exile On Main Street Extremely Rare Store Promo Display (1972). An incredibly rare promo display made for the Rolling Stones' double LP, Exile on Main Street. These promo displays were never sold to the public, and usually discarded after the album was out for a while to make room for new ones. To our knowledge, less than 10 of these are left in the world.

Many words have been written about this incredible double album since its release in 1972. Books by authors Bill Janovitz and Robert Greenfield provide context and plenty of background, while Keith Richards' Life gives his take on the recording sessions. As they were tax exiles in the south of France, plenty of drugs were done and many tunes were recorded. From rock to blues to country to gospel, the album runs the span on the history of American music.

The album artwork was designed by John Van Hamersveld, who worked with legendary photographer/documentarian Robert Frank, to create iconic imagery on the album artwork, and subsequently, the promotional art seen here.

Measures 12" from top to bottom, and 38" across when opened up. Overall, in Very Good condition. The three-panel display shows beautifully with minimal age spots and wear to the front. Toning and soiling in various on verso. Creasing spots are noticeable in the upper right and left corners in the center portion. A supremely rare homage to the Stones' most legendary output. COA from Heritage Auctions.
