The Beatles Yellow Submarine Prototype Test Set of Four White Porcelain Figurines (4) (Goebel, 1968). Of all the years i have been involved with Beatles memorabilia, i have never seen this rarity. This porcelain representation of the Beatles from the movie Yellow Submarine is a pre-production prototype Test Set. A very limited 1968 edition, made by the famous German company Goebel -- perhaps best known as the exclusive manufacturer of the highly-collectible Hummel figurines. It is in every way the same as the very limited production run, with the exception of having none of the psychedelic paint, which would have been hand-applied to the versions later made for sale. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr are represented in Beautiful Near Mint condition, with no chipping, the glaze fresh and shiny. Each figurine has a production number and metal security tag attached by Goebel. 1) John Lennon sticker- A005613, Bull 308 on the bottom right foot and 1968 on the other; 2) Paul McCartney sticker-A005607, Bull 306 on the bottom right foot and 1968 on the other; 3) George Harrison sticker-A005609, Bull 309 on the bottom of the right foot and 1968 on the other; 4) Ringo Starr sticker-A005611, Bull 307 on the bottom of the right foot and 1968 on the other. The metal security tag has ARBEITSMUSTER other side reads: W. GOEBEL RODENTAL. Each figure stands approximately 8.5" tall and on each figurine there is Blue writing on the side of the right boot. This is truly a cornerstone lot for the collection. From the Connie and Dennis Dailey Monumental Beatles Collection. COA from Heritage.
