The Beatles Piece of Original Stage from Historic Grosvenor Ballroom (1960-1961). How cool is this? Way before they became the Fab Four and even before Brian Epstein. Alan Williams was their manager and booked them into the Grosvenor ballroom. This 2" x 1" piece of particle board was removed from the stages large canopy which housed the lighting gear a foot or two over the Silver Beatles heads as they played. The Grosvenor Ballroom was a rowdy Merseyside venue known more for violence than for entertainment. The Beatles played several gigs there in 1960-61, when they were known as the Silver Beetles and comprised of John, Paul, George, Stuart Sutcliffe, and Tommy Moore (and later with Pete Best replacing Moore as drummer). This fragment of the stage was removed in March, 2001, at the start of a planned renovation of the ballroom, and is one of only four pieces known to exist. Paul McCartney commented on the Grosvenor in the Beatles Anthology Book: " I remember one night a rumble had started before I realized what was happening. I ran to the stage to save my Elpico amp, my pride and joy at that time. There were fists flying everywhere. One Ted grabbed me and said, "Don't move or you're bloody" dead" I was scared for my life but I had to get that amp."
Matted and framed along with a printed essay and three color 5" x 7" photos of the venue, to an overall approximate size of 22" x 22". Frame has some wear with a few marks and scuffing. Also included are some copies of advertising for the venue, contract from Jacaranda Enterprises featuring the Silver Beetles plus an early set list. Please note: (These four papers are only copies used for reference only and not Original) Back then the Beatles played quite a few covers. This gives a real insight into the type of music they were going for at that time. There are only four pieces of the stage that are known to exist. This is one of them. Add this rare example of early Beatles history to the collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
