The Beatles - Original Copy of Mersey Beat Vol. 1, No. 23 "Beatles Record" (UK, 1962). Very few copies are known to exist. This May 31st -June 14th, 1962 edition of the influential Liverpool music paper features a cover photo of Pete Best. It also congratulates the boys on their successful engagements in Germany and announces their welcome home performance at the Cavern that Saturday. I wish i could have been there to watch them live. Measures approximately 9.75" x 12.5". Good condition considering the rarity, age, and newsprint composition of this item. Has some chipping at the edges, some spine wear, mild toning, and handling wear. Matted with a plaque and framed to approx: 14.5" by 23". An exceptionally rare and desirable Mersey Beat newspaper. Will look great on the wall. From the Connie and Dennis Dailey Monumental Beatles Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
