DescriptionThe Beatles John Lennon Psychedelic Rolls Royce 1965 Phantom Miniature in Box. What a cool diecast car in box. By True Scale. An exact replica of his 1965 Phantom V. John originally obtained June 1965. The original color was Valentine Black. Then when he began to customize he made the rear seat a double bed, and had a TV, telephone, fridge, a record player, and new sound system installed. How he decided to change the paint scheme is up for debate. It has been suggested that Ringo Starr planted the seed during a drive in early 1967. They were passing the fairgrounds one day and they admired the decorations and gypsy caravans. Ringo said, "Why not paint the Rolls the same way?" John liked the idea. Others have suggested the idea was offered by Marijke Koger of the Dutch collective the Fool. Either way, when it was completed, it made a statement about the time, and lasting through today. In a scale of 1/43 and included in display box. The box measures approx: 3 ¼" by 5 ¾" by 10". The plastic window in the box shows a scratch measuring approx: 4". The car inside the box appears untouched measuring approx: 5 ½" by 2 ¼". We don't know exact manufacturing date. This will make a nice addition to the collection.
