Sex Pistols Historic American Tour Luggage Tag Group (Warner Brothers, 1978). There was never a major Rock tour quite like the one that brought the Sex Pistols to America in January, 1978. Promoter/manager Malcolm McLaren purposely broke every rule in the book, sending the boys out in the dead of winter, playing venues that all but guaranteed a less than friendly crowd, at so-called "Redneck" stops along the Deep South. Bassist Sid Vicious, by this time a complete heroin addict, was known to wander off in search of drugs at each stop, and the confines of the tour bus resulted in singer Johnny Rotten's alienation from the other members. "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?", he famously declared at the band's final stop in San Francisco, right before leaving the Pistols. This group of personalized luggage tags with leather cords were used by the band during this tour, and are emblazoned with their American record label's "WB" logo. There are four smaller, approximately 3.25" x 1.75" laminated tags, one each for John Lydon (Rotten), John Richie (Vicious), Paul Cook (spelled "Cooke"), and Steve Jones, plus two slightly larger laminated tags marked "7" and "10". The smaller tags have some damage along the outside edges of the lamination, but overall the group is in Fine condition. Own a piece of Rock history's most notorious chapters with this lot!
