Elvis Presley's Personally-Owned Mint Coin Sets. "For Yisa" on the outside of the box suggests that the contents just might have been designated for Elvis' only child, Lisa Marie, born in 1968. The contents? Five mint sets of 1967 US coins and one mint set of coins from 1959. It's conjecture why Elvis would have selected these particular years, but both may be linked to his wife Priscilla, whom Elvis married in 1967, nine months prior to Lisa Marie's birth, and whom he had met in 1959, while on active duty with the US ARMY in Germany. The box and contents were found in Elvis' Palm Springs home after the King moved out in the mid-1970s, and while there's no ironclad guarantee the King had set this box aside for his only child, it seems likely to be the case. Included here is an article by Bruce Fessier, longtime contributor to The Desert Sun (Palm Springs) for publication in People magazine in the late 1990s about Elvis' years in Palm Springs.
