Elvis Presley's Honorary Palm Springs Police Badge and ID Card. One of many law enforcement commissions bestowed upon Elvis, this badge established Presley as an unofficial captain in the Palm Springs, California police department; the accompanying ID card (dated November 30, 1970) cites him as a member of the Palm Springs Police Officer's Association. Elvis owned a home in Palm Springs at the time, which he used as a weekend getaway. Elvis befriended Palm Springs police officer Dick Grob, who pulled some strings and obtained this law enforcement commission for the King. (Grob later became one of Elvis' personal security men after leaving the force.) The badge is in Very Fine condition with some moderate wear to the leather holder, and the ID is in Excellent condition. Accompanied by a signed affidavit from Dick Grob and LOAs from Charlie Hodge, Joe Esposito, and Patti Parry.
