Elvis Presley Owned Copies of Fame 1964-67. The annual publication (1935-70) was a showcase of personalities in the motion picture industry, spotlighting the leading actors, producers, writers, and directors of the day. One of the most popular features of Fame was its QP Top Ten Moneymaking Stars Poll. Having conquered the world of music from 1956-63, Elvis and the Colonel had turned their attention to Hollywood. For the four years represented by these annuals, 1964-67, Elvis ranked 7th, 6th, 6th, and 10th respectively, vying against such luminaries as John Wayne, Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Paul Newman, Jack Lemmon, and Elizabeth Taylor. Elvis must have enjoyed thumbing through these copies - they average about Fine condition, which is pretty nice for these oversized (10" x 13") books with their stiff covers that crease easily. LOA from Patsy Presley Geranen, Elvis' double cousin.
