Elvis Presley - George Klein Assortment of Documentation Including Scrapbook, Christmas Card, Letters from Col. Tom Parker, Report Cards, Letters, and More. A small treasure trove of items from George Klein's collection. Klein (1935-2019) was a longtime Memphis DJ but better known for his very public, lifelong friendship with Elvis Presley. Includes: 1) A 12" x 14 ½" scrapbook filled with press clippings from newspapers and trade magazines, a graduation program from 1953, memos, and Western Union telegrams. One page has telegrams from Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra (and Tommy Sands) and Dean Martin. Elvis wrote, "My best of luck to you for a successful dance party. Wish I could have been there," with "Your friend Elvis" at the end of it. Frank Sinatra finishes his telegram with "I'm sure your audience will enjoy all our great Reprise recordings." Another page has telegrams from friends congratulating Klein on a new job. Another page has telegrams from Sammy Davis, Jr, Ann Margret, Wink Martindale, Bobby Vee, and Sam Cooke. Other items include pictures of Klein with Elvis in newspaper clippings. Overall, in Very Good Minus condition with many signs of wear, bumping, and fading; 2) A holiday card (measures 2" x 2 ½") signed and inscribed to Klein from what appears to be a secretarial signature and inscription. In Very Good Minus condition with creasing through the center, along with fading and toning. Also comes with a cutout of Elvis that measures 2 ½" x 2 ¾"; 3) Two typed 8 ½" x 11" letters on MGM stationary (with envelopes) to Klein from May of 1966. One is from Col. Tom Parker (about a tape received), while the other is from Parker's office (regards for sending clippings). Both are in Very Good Plus condition with fold marks; 4) An American Airlines ticket from Memphis to Los Angeles, dated September 7, 1966. Measures 4" x 8".
