Elvis Presley Boxed Telephone Gifted To Charlie Hodge (1970s). Charlie Hodge was one of Elvis' oldest friends -- Elvis affectionately called him "Cholly" -- who first met the King in the late 1950s and performed multiple responsibilities for him until Presley's death in 1977. Elvis had a similar boxed phone in his Beverly Hills home in the early 1970s, and this one was gifted to Charlie by Elvis and the Colonel around the same time. A telephone number with area code 205 -- from Charlie's home state of Alabama -- is on the dial and top of the phone plate. In Very Good condition, the box measures 10.5" x 8" x 5" and shows very little wear for its age. With bill of sale from Butterfield & Butterfield Elvis Memorabilia sale, October 7, 1995. From the Oshei Family Collection.
