Edd "Kookie" Byrnes Group of Memorabilia (Late 1950s - Early 1960s). A "cool" character predating "the Fonz" by more than a decade, Edd Byrnes' "Kookie" from the hit TV series 77 Sunset Strip was a legitimate teen sensation, even leading to top ten Pop hit duet with Connie Stevens. Included here are two blue "Kookie" three-ring binders, two pink "Kookie" three-ring binders, and one blue zip-up binder, all emblazoned with Kookie's illustrated likeness and teen-jive catchphrases. Also included are two still-in-package Kookie combs, with "free wallet photo" and one 1959 paperback book, 'Way Out with Kookie, measuring 5" x 6.5" and featuring a guide to "Kookie talk", crossword puzzles, cartoons, pieces on hip music, and of course, ads for Brylcreem. Binders measure 11" x 14" and 10" x 11". All items Fine to Excellent, with little wear. From the David Gest Memorabilia Archive.
