    Description

Bob Dylan Rolling Thunder Revue 1975-76 Ephemera Incl. Lou Kemp Backstage Pass. This lot consists of 13 items from Bob Dylan's 1975-76 Rolling Thunder Revue tour of America, as gathered by the tour's producer and our consignor, Louie Kemp. This lot consists Mr. Kemp's personal laminated backstage pass, including his one-fingered salute; six different-colored pins that served as color-coded backstage guest passes for varying stops on the tour; one Hurricane Carter button, representing Dylan's new single and major cause of the moment; four unused tickets from Canadian stops on the tour; and one Rolling Thunder Revue unused matchbook.

Items are generally only in Good condition, many having been mounted in a picture frame at one time, and still retaining adhesive residue and tear-aways on the versos. This lot also includes a personally signed and inscribed copy of Louie Kemp's book, made out to the winner, including a Dylan-ephemera bookmark that Louie designed. COAs from Louie Kemp and Heritage Auctions.

More Information: The following 11 items from this lot are pictured in Mr. Kemp's book: the laminated backstage pass (pictured twice), the six color pins (in abstract form), the Hurricane Carter button, the Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 tickets, and the matchbook.

    Dimensions are as such:
    Backstage pass: 2 3/8" x 3 ¼"
    Small buttons: 1 ¼" diameter
Hurricane Carter button: 2 ¼" diameter
    Matchbook 2 1/8" x 2"

The concert tickets are standard sized:
    The two orange Maple Leaf Gardens/Toronto are 1 5/8" x 3 3/8"
    The orange Montreal Forum is 3 5/8" x 1 3/8"
    The blue Quebec City is 3 ¼" x 1 3/8"

Condition details: Lou Kemp's backstage pass has sticky residue and black paper on the verso, from mounting in a picture frame. Same with all seven pins, including the Hurricane Carter one. The small ones still have their pins, but the pin is missing on the larger Carter one. The concert tickets all have Scotch tape or glue residue on the fronts; chopped corners or hole punches; and staining or discoloration. Versos have heavy residue from still-sticky glue or some kind of adherent. The matchbook has sticky residue on both front and back, although the matches are all intact and untouched inside.
