Beatles Trading Cards Displays (Topps, USA)....

Beatles Trading Cards Displays (Topps, USA). Being both hugely popular and extremely photogenic, it's no surprise that the Beatles made their way onto trading cards. The Topps Chewing Gum company made a number of series of cards featuring the Beatles, which were available either four-to-a-pack with a stick of bubble gum for five cents, or in multiple card packs with no gum. Represented in this lot are two hard-to-find original retail display boxes, for the "New Series" black and white series, and the very popular "Color Photos" series. These boxes would have originally held 24 individual five cent card-and-gum packs. Each measures approximately 8" x 4" x 2", the New Series in Good condition, and the Color Photos in Fair condition, both with some creasing, tears, and tape residue. Included are a total of 11 later reproductions of the gum-and-card packs, which were used for display at the Beatlemania Hamburg exhibit. Also with two hanging card packs, which were originally with 30 cards each, at 29 cents each. Note that while the cards and packaging are original, these hanging packs have been opened and "dummy" blank cards have been used to fill out the packs, again, for display purposes at Beatlemania Hamburg. The hanging packs, as display items, in Very Good condition. From the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection.Auction Info
