Beatles Related - Brick from John Lennon's Childhood Home. A brick from Lennon's childhood home in Liverpool, Mendips. The affixed plaque reads: "This is to Authenticate & Verify that this brick, Number 116 of 150, was taken from the partition wall between the living room and lounge of John Lennon's childhood home at Mendip, 251 Menlove Avenue, Liverpool on the third day of October, in the year Two Thousand." The home was where Lennon was raised by his Aunt Mimi Smith in the 1940s and '50s. In 2000, the owner of Mendips allowed NBC to film a movie about John in the home, and even allowed the removal of part of a wall to aid in filming. 150 bricks were salvaged at the time. The home is now owned by the National Trust, and they will not even allow photographs inside the house, much less taking souvenirs. This is a unique and fantastic opportunity to own a piece of John Lennon's childhood. Originally auctioned online by Outhwaite & Litherland in November of 2000. 9" x 4" x 3". From the collection of Craig Hopkins, author of Stevie Ray Vaughan: Day by Day, Night After Night.
