Beatles - Now These Days Are Gone Deluxe Edition #132/350 (Genesis Publications, 2006). Beautiful oversized (10.5" x 12.75") 256-page book crammed with over 250 images taken by photographer Michael Peto in 1965 during the shooting of Help! the Beatles second full-length film. Peto was a photojournalist for The Observer, the UK's most prestigious publication for photojournalists, a position that gave him unique access to the Fab Four in the transitional year of 1965 as the group matured from their Beatlemania days and into the critical acclaim of Rubber Soul and beyond. Only a small percentage of the photos Peto took were used by his employer at the time, and would wind up with more than 130,000 prints and negatives bequeathed to The University of Dundee when he died in 1970. In 2004, archivists discovered hundreds of unpublished photos of the Beatles, including those captured in this remarkable book published in 2006. The Deluxe edition is limited to just 350 copies signed by Sir Alan Langlands, Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Dundee, and by Richard Lester, who directed Help! The book is bound in full red leather, with gold tooling and gold page edging, and comes with a matching slipcase, with small black & white glossy prints of the individual Beatles on the outside; plus a black with Now These Days Are Gone in red lettering drawstring carrying bag. Exclusive to the Deluxe edition and included here are three additional exclusive prints. All are in Near Mint condition.
