Beatles - John Lennon/Yoko Ono Aspen Magazine With Flexi (1970). Offered here for the first time by Heritage Auctions is an incredibly rare and unique treasure for Beatles and Lennon collectors: Aspen magazine number 7. Though it's referred to as a magazine, it's more of an experimental art piece. Subtitled the British Box, it's a multi-colored cardboard box containing 13 pieces of varying types of ephemera, including: two flexi records (one containing a John Lennon radio play, while the other side features Yoko Ono's "Song for John" and "No Bed for Beatle John"; the other a split effort from Christopher Logue and John Tavener); a lyric sheet for both discs, a small 4" x 3.25" booklet filled with reproductions of sloppily handwritten tidbits from John Lennon, titled The Lennon Diary 1969; the original Aspen order form, and several other folded posters, 10" x 10" art pieces, and a booklet of stories and essays. An incredibly interesting look into the surrealist art world of the early 1970s. Put together the box measures 10" x 10" x 1.5". All inner items in Fine to Excellent condition, with little to no wear or toning, though the outer box shows wear to the outer cardboard, heavy creases, dings and fraying at the corners. Flexi Condition: MT 9 (both appear unplayed).
