Beatles - An Original Piece Of The Star-Club Hamburg Exterior Facade (Germany). Here is a large piece of the exterior of the building at 39 Grosse Freiheit, Hamburg, which stood for decades until razed following a fire in the 1980s. That address is where the famous Star-Club was located between 1962 and 1969. The German photographer and music historian Gunter Zint rescued this piece of the facade from the rubble, and it later made its way into the Blaschke collection. Made of carved stone possibly dating to the 19th Century, weathered and with evidence of paint, the decorative elements still intact. Measures approximately 13" x 10" x 9", and very heavy, as would be expected.
