Alan Freed "Moondog House" Historic Rock 'n' Roll Stationery (1952). A specimen of "Press and Radio Release" letterhead from Alan Freed's early 1950's WJW Cleveland radio show "The Moondog House." Features the cartoon-style Moondog logo at the upper-left corner, a nod to Freed's earliest R&B/rock 'n' roll radio shows which would only play late at night. You even get a photograph of Freed, the man credited with first popularizing the term "rock 'n' roll," next to his nickname "King of the Moondoggers," with show information following.

As all rock historians know, this was only the beginning for Freed, who would soon go on to promote the first "rock 'n' roll concerts" around Ohio, eventually move to the big time in New York and end up promoting national tours with the likes of Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. This is a rare slice of Freed's genesis, the only example we've ever seen.

Measures 8 1/2 x 11" and in fine condition, with light toning and slight rounding to the corners. COA from Heritage Auctions.
